String Quartet:
One of our most popular combinations is the Arioso string quartet. It is a vibrant Melbourne-based ensemble formed from two violins, viola and cello. All members hold Bachelor of Music degrees with Honours from the Victorian College of the Arts and the Australian Institute of Music, and have performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Youth Orchestra. The quartet has music to cater for all occasions, with extensive repertoire lists covering a wide range of genres; traditional classical, jazz, rock, modern and gypsy favourites.
The quartet is widely experienced with all types of engagements, from concert hall appearances to weddings, corporate functions, parties and recording backings for rock bands. Consistently praised by clients for their professionalism and quality performances, the quartet has been engaged for numerous high-profile engagements, such as performing for the prime minister John Howard, Paul Keating’s 60th Birthday Party, recording string backing for Jimmy Little, and an international tour with rock band ‘Dewa’. The quartet's rich, full sound make it carry in larger venues or outdoors.
